Introductory Statement from the Superhero
What I'll be writing here will be pretty mundane- things like "I had Chex for breakfast today" and "If only Danny liked me the way I like him" and "This is a picture of me smoking crack, which is why I thought it would be a great idea to have a blog and I hope everybody has a totally great day."
Because the blog is a curious organism. It's the pet of generation Y, eschewed by X-ers with the exception of only those savvy to web pop-culture (and high school teachers). Being an intellectual superhero, I fall into "none of the above." I'm elitist at heart when it comes to sharing my thoughts: only shall the lucky hear the wisdom once I've had my 32-oz. Miller High Life (the champagne of beers).
I've seen many blogs about blogs, bloggers, and blogging- and I concur with the sentiment that blogging is a great way for a budding academic genius to develop writing skills. Writing in niche professional cultures is becoming more casual every day- and I've found myself advising friends, colleagues, and fans (recall: superhero) to blog. Many celebrity intellectuals have blogs which are intended for specific audiences, and it would be nice to see others get off the pulpit and mingle a bit. I mean, what the hell- your books are being downloaded as pdf's anyway! So I've decided to take some of my own advice and minimize the Microsoft Word. I'll get to the blogging in just a minute. Just let me go grab my High Life.
