"one."
Last night I dreamed that I found the place where the universe began with one atom. One atom. One atom was slowing dotting toward me in a perfectly straight vector. It was making beeping noises and blinking with each beep. The sky was watery, the air was dark. There was no ground plane and there were no planets. I stared in awe at the blue dot as it pulsed like one of those light boxes of different bulbs that create the illusion of movement. Then I realized that it wasn't in fact pulsing- the blue dot was followed by identical blue dots. Each one was the first atom in the universe. I tried to count them, but all I could do was say, "one. one. one." Time was on pause and I placed myself in the way of the blue dot that was the first atom in the universe, and I let it collide with my neck. A blue strobe flashed a few times. I came to peace with existence and had a euphoric feeling. Time didn't exist.
